Comedy Mind Reader: Eric Dittelman

Saturday -

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to know what someone else was thinking or to know what someone else was going to do before they did it? Eric Dittelman knows what that’s like. He has been reading minds on hit t.v. shows and at colleges, comedy clubs, and private events all across the country for years. Now, you can see Dittelman perform live for yourself in Keene and marvel over his abilities.

Comedy mind reader Eric Dittelman will be the featured performer for the 50th anniversary gala of Maps Counseling Services at the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College on June 8th. As seen on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” and “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” Dittelman combines mind reading with stand-up and improvisational comedy. Whether playing a round of Pictionary with his eyes duct taped shut or revealing an audience member’s personal thoughts, Dittelman invites audience members to be come part of the show. He leaves them all with an amazing experience that they’ll never forget.

Dr. Gina Pasquale, executive director of Maps Counseling Services, is excited to be marking Maps Counseling Services’s 50th year with Dittelman’s performance. Dr. Pasquale said, “Our clinicians often begin a session of therapy by asking their patients, ‘What’s on your mind?’ We thought it would be appropriate to kick off Maps Counseling Services next 50 years by offering the community a fun evening of comedy based on that theme.” Dr. Pasquale said that in addition to “VIP” tickets, which include 10 raffle tickets for prizes and a dessert reception, general admission seats, which include 5 raffle tickets, are also being sold to keep the event affordable for just about everyone.

For fifty years, Maps Counseling Services has been a beacon of hope and healing in Keene, New Hampshire. Founded in 1973 by a group of local ministers as Monadnock Area Pastoral Counseling Service (MAPSCS), it initially provided professional pastoral counseling and care. Maps Counseling Services has evolved and expanded since then, moving locations and adapting to meet the changing needs of those it serves. It added a Peterborough office in the mid-1990s.

Through name and identity changes, Maps Counseling Services has remained committed to its mission of holistic care, addressing the mind, heart, body, and spirit, and has never lost sight of its core values. David Meader, chair of the Maps Counseling Services board of directors, said, “We have moved on from pastoral counseling to offering evidence-based therapy with licensed therapists. We embrace diversity and innovation to better serve over a thousand individuals and families each year.”

Dr. Pasquale said that Maps Counseling Services is accredited by the Solihten Institute, whose website states its mission is “to inspire, educate, connect, and equip professionals who integrate mind, body, spirit, and community in their approach to caring for the wellbeing of others.”

Dr. Pasquale said, “Maps Counseling Services has continuously upheld its standards of excellence. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we look forward to continuing our legacy of compassion, healing, and guidance for generations to come, and offering hope and healing for those who need help finding their way.”

Eric Dittelman is performing on Saturday, June 8th at 8pm at the Redfern Arts Center on the campus of Keene State College in Keene. Doors open for general admission at 7:30pm.
