Keene State College will host its 7th annual Cantate! High School Choral Festival on Friday, October 28, in the Redfern Arts Center Alumni Recital Hall from 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Approximately 200 high school students from New Hampshire and Massachusetts will perform on the Alumni Recital Hall stage. Of the six choirs in attendance, KSC alumni lead five of them:

Profile High School – Alyssa Comeau ’13
Lisbon High School – Kaitie Hart ’15
Murdock High School – Alyson Ryder Galipeau ’10
Concord High School – A. Brin Adams Cowette ’11

Each choir will perform two selections followed by a feedback clinic with KSC’s choral and voice faculty clinicians: Dr. Daniel Carberg, Lecturer Diane Cushing, Dr. Sandra Howard, and Dr. Matthew Leese. The KSC Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Keene Vocal Consort will also perform followed by a combined all-sing of Johannes Brahms’ Liebesliederwalzer, op. 52, no. 15 Nachtigall, sie singt so schön.
The KSC Department of Music and student chapters of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) will co-sponsor this outreach and collaborative event in an effort to provide performance and clinic experiences to high school singers in New England. This event is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, contact Dr. Sandra Howard.
