DESCRIPTION:The Keene State College Concert Band presents the second conce
 rt in this year’s Music of Social Justice Series\, “Reflections on Ame
 rica.” This concert explores the music of immigrants\, themes of immigra
 tion\, and holds up the mirror to us as a country. We are proud to share t
 he stage with the Keene High School Band for this performance.\n\nThe Keen
 e State College Concert Band is celebrating nearly 50 years as a campus-co
 mmunity group\, composed of musicians from every walk of life\, ages 18 to
  88. With a rich history of entertaining and educating\, the ensemble is p
 roud to promote the creation and performance of new music\, particularly b
 y musicians from under-represented populations. This concert will also fea
 ture the Keene High School Band\, under the direction of KSC alumnus Mr. J
 oseph Conti (’18).\n\nAs a country of immigrants\, the fabric of our nat
 ion is reflected in our music. In this performance\, we explore music by i
 mmigrants and children of immigrants\, music about immigrants and immigrat
 ion\, and we reaffirm the echoing call to “give me your tired\, your poo
 r\, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” inscribed on the Statu
 e of Liberty. We also remember the families and lives torn asunder by gun 
 violence\, and present our Bernstein-inspired reply\, “to make music mor
 e intensely\, more beautifully\, more devotedly than ever before.”\n\nTh
