Dr. Leo Robert Sandy

I received my doctorate in Human Development and Education from Boston University in 1983, and am currently professor emeritus at Plymouth State University where I taught full-time from 1996 to 2012 and was awarded the 2011 Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award. I also taught full-time at Rivier University for 12 years. Currently, I am a lecturer at Keene State, a retired school psychologist from Westmoreland School, a consultant at the Keene YMCA, executive director for Rise for Peace, and the editor for The Protocol, the New Hampshire School Psychology Association Newsletter. I also volunteer at the Family Connections Center at Concord Prison. I received the Excellence in Education Award (EDies) for Lifetime Achievement in School Psychology in 20016 and the 2013 NH Peace Action Culture of Peace Award.I am a Vietnam era Navy veteran and member of Veterans for Peace, Inc. I have taught courses in peace studies, human development, exceptionality, counseling, school psychology, and parenting since 1984 at Rivier University, Plymouth State University, and/or Keene State College. My interest areas include peace and social justice, moral development, liberatory pedagogy, and parenting. I am married with two adult children and a granddaughter. Our family has two rescue dogs, Jackie and Lily, and a horse named Jackson.
