Mitch Speaks received his MA in psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a BA in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has taught at KSC for over 25 years, first as an adjunct and now as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He has taught introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Social Psychology, Cognition, Brain and Behavior, and seminar courses in Heroes and in Memory for the psychology department, as well as Introduction to Quantitative Literacy in the math department. Professor Speaks considers himself a generalist on the experimental side of psychology.

While an adjunct faculty member, he served as vice-president and then president of the KSCAA for over 15 years.

Professor Speaks spends his leisure time at home with his wife and family, including two college-graduates and one senior in high school children. He enjoys real sports, fantasy sports, and solving puzzles.
